My Birthday….42 and counting

Well folks, I have managed to survive another year. Yes, tomorrow morning, the 25th of July I will be officially 42 years old. The years are flying fast,…too fast. I think I would have been happy staying 27 or 28 years of age forever. I think my mentality is about there. Unfortunately, my body is not cooperating. It is getting older….I’m thinkin maybe I should have asked for a gym subscription ….naw…I don’t have time for the gym.
What am I getting for my birthday? Well, yesterday my husband and I went out and bought new livingroom furniture. It is so beautiful and it will be delivered tomorrow (my birthday). I can’t wait to sit on it. I know that sounds a bit perculiar but getting new furniture is a treat for me. We haven’t had new furniture in 20 years.

What am I having for dinner on my birthday? T-bone steak. I love steak. It’s one of my favorite foods.

Tommorrow is my day. I get to lay around and do nothing…which is pretty much what I did today. 🙂 I really should work on my resume. That new job isn’t going to be handed to me on a silver platter.

Finally, unpacked and settling in

Well, the movers brought over my misssing things. We have unpacked and put nearly everything in it’s place. I did nothing yesterday but unpacked boxes room by room. The only room I have left to do is my own.

Today I took a down day. I have done nothing but watch TV…and a little laundry. I can’t find my iron. I need to iron a shirt for tomorrow. My husband says the iron is probably in the one box in the garage we have not unpacked. Of course it is,.. where else would it be? I don’t have the energy to go out to the garage and look. It might be easier to just go to walmart and buy an already ironed shirt. 🙂

I will be started my job hunting tomorrow.  Wish me luck!!!!

My things are lost

Well, yesterday was hectic indeed. We had the movers, direct tv and the cable company at our house at the same time. The movers unloaded our stuff and then we discovered that two of our crates were missing. None of my kitchen appliances or dishes made it to our new house. We are also missing a dresser, a computer chair and a few other things. The moving company said they would find our crates and hopefully deliver our missing things in a day or two. I am so glad my husband took out insurance to cover any loss 100%.

We have CABLE!!!!!!!!

Well, we made it to our new home in Surprise Arizona about 1:30am this morning. The morning was spent unloading the car and truck. The kids picked out their bedrooms. That took about 2 seconds. Most of the day has been spent lying around and watching cartoon videos on the TV be brought along. I hooked up the cable cord a few minutes ago and discovered we already have cable TV……we also have high speed internet!!!!! I wish I would have thought to hook up that cable this morning. 🙂

Something Funny

so I have this little story to tell…..

My daughter Morgan and my nephew were having a disagreement over who was getting to name the virtual fish on the computer’s screen saver. My sister trying to be diplomatic and make both of them happy suggested they split the fish. My nephew could name part of the fish and Morgan could name part of the fish.

MY Morgan said “OK, but I get to name the heads.”

I was so caught off guard by what Morgan said I practically cried with laughter.

also, this is my last entry until I get my stuff in my new house in Arizona. We leave Tennessee tomorrow morning around 8am. I will be on the road for the next three days. I will see you when I get my home computer set up.

Advice from a retired postman

We had a little family gathering at my mom and dads house yesterday evening. It was an evening of hambergers, hot dogs, soda,, chips and lots of conversation. I was telling my uncle the retired postman that I sent postcards around the world to my friends. He thought it was cool but then let me know that I should have taken the postcards to the postoffice instead of just dropping them in the mailbox for pick up. Apparently, the postage is different when you mail postcards to foreign countries. Well duh!!, I don’t know why this didn’t occur to me. I am nearly 42 years old. So what I decided to do is resend a second postcard from Tennessee to everyone that lives outside the United States. I will take these postcards to the postoffice and have the proper postage put on them. There is a chance that the original postcards will make it to their destination anyway but I don’t want to take the chance that people won’t get their postcards.

I am off to address cards

A funeral, Opry Mills Mall and other stuff.

I’m at my moms house. sadly, my dad’s brother(My uncle) lost his wife after a long illness. There was a funeral today. We did not go. I know it is awful but I couldn’t get in the car and drive another long journey to attend a funeral. My parents will be back home tonight.

Happily we are going to Opry mills mall tomorrow and spend the day. I love that mall. We will take pictures if I can remember to take the camera.

Other news, while traveling to my parents house yesterday my husband truck blew a tire. It scared me to death because I was in the car behind him. I have never seen a tire blow before. It was a very loud boom and tire went everywhere. I am glad my husband is a good driver. He had three of the kids in the truck with him. We were all able to pull over to the side of the interstate and change the tire and then continue on our way.

PS. I mailed the second set of postcards.

Our Vacation

We are having a real good time. We went to a family reunion yesterday and it was a lot of fun. Believe it or not but we neglected to take pictures.

I haven’t been able to get online because we are living with my sister in law and she has dial-up. I can’t spend my day online because my brother in law in a police officer. They need to keep their phone lines open.

IF anyone would like to receive a post card from Tennessee send me your address to my email. I will send everyone a post card from the state of Tennessee that  sends me their address and I promise not to sell it to telemarketers. :)    madie@beartribenet.com

I will check my email in a couple of days for addresses. Please do not leave your address here. We wouldn’t want strangers to get your address. That would be bad.

I’m sick of cleaning

I am looking forward to Friday. Friday, I will hand over the keys to this house to the owner and start my vacation. I need a vacation. I am looking forward to being pampered by my relatives. I am looking forward to sleeping in. I’m looking forward to living out the next couple of weeks not knowing what I am going to do from one day to the next. Will I just sit and talk to relatives? Will I go on a picnic? Will I go to the mall and shop? Will I take a drive in the country? I am looking forward to not having any cares in the world. I’m looking forward to pawning my children off on the relatives. 🙂 I actually don’t have to pawn my children because the moment we hit Tennessee everyone will go off into a hundred different directions. My children will have the time of their lives. It happens, I can’t explain it. I probably won’t see them again until the day we pack-up, say goodbye and start our journey to our new home in Arizona.
