The Lulu Blooker Prize

I entered Madie’s Bear Tribe Journal blook 1 into the Lulu sponsored blooker contest. The categories for the contest were fiction, nonfiction and cartoons. I entered the fiction category. There are currently 30 books entered into my category. I have looked at all the books entered a couple of times. There are some excellent writers out there and I fear I am most likely out of my league. I’m thinking my chances of making it into the top five are probably slim to none. A girl can still hope. I did my best and I am glad I entered.

changes and more changes

I have been changing a few things on my websites. I’ve been trying to make things look nicer and be more functional. My children started back to school and I fined I have less and less time to play on the internet. “Sorry” to those who read my blooks and journals. I haven’t been making as many journal entries as usual. I am trying to get back to normal but life is a little challenging at the moment.

School Books

I have two daughters in college. The cost of books is killing me. This semester is not as bad as the previous one because daughter number 2 gets to use daughter number 1’s english books and daughter number 1 gets to use daughter number 2’s flash books but still there is just something wrong about spending over five hundred dollars for school books. I’ve vented and now I feel better.

A little change

I have been blogging for nearly two years. My main blook is on wordpress. I have been using an old wordpress. Today I decided to update to the most recent wordpress available. It was very nerve racking and took me several hours but I did it. AND things seem to work. I had a horrible fear that I was going to make changes and loose everything. I didn’t loose everything and I haven’t broken anything important. I would like to thank the people at wordpress for giving excellent directions. check out my old(new blook) and the changes I made. http://www.beartribenet.com/log

Being a Webmaster and the Frustration

I have been writing my beartribenet story for nearly a year and a half. I started out on blogger but decided to put up my own website so that I could have more control. When I deleted my beartribenet.blogspot page someone else immediately picked it up and put pornography on the page. I almost had a heart attack. The thought of being associated with the porn industry was a little nauseating. I didn’t want people to think I was associated with that business. I was already high in the search engines and now everyone who looked up beartribenet would first be lead to the porn page.

Recently the person who picked up my beartribenet.blogspot page deleted the page. I repicked up the page so that noone could put porn on that page again. by the way, the number of people looking for porn on that page is just astounding. Nearly a hundred people an hour. It must have been some excellent porn.

A little Rant

I swear, sometimes it is hard to bite my tongue and be civil. I work in a newborn intensive care unit as a secretary. I was recently asked by a family if I could call a Priest so that their baby could be Baptised. The baby was seriously ill and the family wasn’t certain if she would survive the day. I gladly did as I was asked and called the oncall Priest. The Priest arrived and as soon as he discovered the family that needed his assistance was a gay couple he refused to Baptise the baby. He was rude and uncaring. He turned around and walked out of the unit leaving the family standing beside their baby’s issolate crushed and hurt. What difference does it make that the parents are gay? The baby is an innocent.

By the way, We did find someone to Baptise the baby.
