the Spider

I live in the desert and when you live in the desert you expect to see certain critters from time to time. Well, this lady was in my house.

If you look closely you will see the babies all over her back. I know these are babies because when we swatted the momma the babies scattered all over my dining room floor.

Making the Change

I have been blogging serial fiction for nearly two years. I have put up and taken down at least a dozen sites. I can’t help myself. I like change and when something doesn’t work for me I take it down or change things around. I have recently changed all my blogs to wordpress. I like wordpress. It’s easy to use.

Yesterday I decided to start the Marsha blog. It took me most of yesterday to get the thing formated and designed the way I wanted it. After a good nights sleep I looked at my blog. It looks ok. I’m happy with it. That doesn’t mean I won’t be changing things from time to time. I like making changes but for now it is acceptable to me.

A picture of me

Marsha

Spent the entire morning and most of the afternoon making this website. I didn’t have a current picture of myself so I had my children take my picture over and over again. My children probably think I am insane. We finally took a picture that I was happy with after about two dozen tries. When did I get this old?

Don’t forget to leave me a comment. I like comments.

American Idol / Bad Song Choices

yick!!! Last night was not a good night for song choices. The only one I thought was half way decent was Taylor Hicks. (and Taylor your clothes choice was fine. I liked it.) I did enjoy his song. I was disappointed in the song Mandisa sang. She sings so well and I was actually looking forward to hearing her song. It was a let down. (Mandisa, I look forward to next week.)Marsha

American Idol / Chris Daughtry

I just finished watching american idol. Could Chris Daughtry get any better? Oh my gosh he is good, great,He Rocks !!! Johnny Cash would be proud. I have always liked the song “I walk the line.” I never would have imagined that it could have been sang like it was tonight. I am so glad I have Tivo because I can keep rewinding and rewinding to hear that song over and over again. I want to hear a longer version off this song and I want Chris to sing it. I think that “I walk the line” could be a number one hit. I have four teenagers at home and they all four loved the way Chris sang this song. Also, I absolutely enjoyed Mandisa (You are so spectacular), Paris(I love watching your performances), Kellie(you can sing, I’m thinkin sitcom), Kevin(sweet Kevin, I loved the song, and the hair ) and Taylor( I watch American Idol just to see what you are going to sing next).

Big Love and HBO series

I watched Big love yesterday evening. I accidently came across the commercial last week and decided to check out this new series on HBO. I heard thru the grapevine that the mormon community was not happy. The show is about a family of polygomist. A family with 1 husband and three wives. I watched and I liked it. I think the show has a decent storyline and the possibility of interesting drama. I have set up my TIVO to record the next few episodes. With this show encourage more polygomy or discourage it? Don’t know but I hope it doesn’t get cancelled before given the chance to prove it is decent drama.

Chucky Cheese the experience

My daughter enjoyed her birthday at chucky cheese. That place is a once a year stop. We paid almost 100 dollars on two pizza’s ,eight cokes, and two hundred tokens. My daughter spent most of her time on the thing your crawl in and out of. My other four children, who are teenagers and young adults tried to gather as many tickets as possible so that their little sister would be able to choose a great prize. Choosing the prize was a long process. The lady behind the counter was so frustrated with my daughter that she finally gave up and gave her a my little pony pillow even though she didn’t have quite enough tickets. You try arguing with a persistant 6 year old. : )

chuky cheese

My youngest daughter will be celebrating her birthday two days early today. She is so excited. Chucky Cheese is her dinner choice. I have never been there before. I hope it isn’t to wild. I honestly would prefer to stay at home but we all make sacrifices. My daughter was actually awake before she needed to be today. She can’t wait to celebrate her birthday. I was teasing her about the presents she was going to get today. I told her I was going to go out in the backyard and pick out some nice sticks and rocks to wrap up as presents. My daughters reply was “cool, I can build something…. make sure you get me some glue.” I almost fell out of my chair with laughter.

Job hunting

My days are filled with job hunting. I wish I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I am hoping that the job of my dreams is going to drop into my lap. I just wish I knew what that job was. I have been searching all of the Phoenix arizona employment sites and placing my resume there. I just wish it didn’t take so long entering all of my information over and over again. I must have sat at this computer four hours straight yesterday applying to jobs.

something else broke

Ever notice that when you get a little money in the bank and then you make plans to spend it on something fun something in the house breaks? Well, our refrigerator decided to die yesterday. It’s sad but true. Unfortunately, we can’t live without a refrigerator. so I sent my husband out to buy a new refrigerator today while I was at work. I know he will buy the perfect one because my husband is a bargain shopper. He enjoys comparing prizes and always strives to get the best deal. I will let you know what kind of new refrigerator he bought tomorrow.

Kellie Pickler an american idol contestant

Kellie Pickler was absolutely adorable yesterday on American Idol. I hope she makes it all the way to the end. That girl has spunk and an award winning personality.Tonight the guys sing. I am hoping that their songs are better than the ones chosen last night. The songs weren’t bad just not memorable. Although I did enjoy listening to Kellie Pickler and Ayla Brown.

I would not be disappointed if Ayla Brown made it to the end either. She also has talent but I am holding out for Kellie.

Phoenix here we come

My husband has finally gotten his orders. He will be stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. So we will be moving to Phoenix this summer. Once again I will be looking for a job. At least this time I have my degree finished and will hopefully be able to earn more than a secretaries salary. I have no idea what kind of job I will be looking for. I wish I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. The most favorite job I ever had was working as an academic advisor at Wayland Baptist University. I loved that job. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to keep it very long. My husband got orders. Oh well, it’s what a loving wife does.

So here is my plea. I need a job in Phoenix or one of the surrounding areas. I have a BS in Business. I learn quickly. I’m organized. (Have to be, I have five children), I like people. I like public speaking. I work well alone or with others.

Taylor Hicks and the Soul Patrol

I’ve been hooked. I don’t usually watch reality TV and I’m really not sure why I started watching this years American idol. I’m thinking it’s because there really wasn’t anything else on that day or something. Some of the contestants on American Idol are really, really good. I know only one of them can win but I think more than one deserves a record contract when this whole thing is finished. My favorite to win is Taylor Hicks. He is very unique. I like his sound and he has an adorable personality. At least the personality we get to see on TV is adorable. If he doesn’t win the whole contest I truly hope someone gives him a record contract anyway.

I don’t want you to think that Taylor is the only person I am hoping does well in this contest. I would be perfectly happy to see Ayla, Ace, Bucky, Chris, Kelly, David, Elliot, Mandisa, Paris, Kevin, Patrick or Will win the contest. I think they all have something to offer to America. I will keep my fingers crossed that this show opens opportunities for all of them.
