I live in the desert and when you live in the desert you expect to see certain critters from time to time. Well, this lady was in my house.
If you look closely, you will see the babies all over her back. I know these are babies because when we swatted the momma the babies scattered all over my dining room floor.
Marsha

Oh my marsha, you are a brave woman, the spiders and 5 kids. Very brave!!!!
brave is stopping to take pictures of the spider before we decided to get rid of her. : )
Well. I have arachnaphobia… so it was a shock when I went to your page. LOL
I was in the military for 6 years. And my husband and I contracted for the military. So, where did you go?
I was in Japan, Panama, and Germany. We now live in the high deserts of Nevada.
Cyn
I was also in the military for 6 years. We have lived in mississippi, japan, texas, arizona, north carolina, new mexico and in july we will be moving to arizona again.
I was in the U.S. Navy and so was my husband. He was also in the Army… during Vietnam.
Well… you belong to the club 🙂
thanks!!!!I was in the Air Force. My husband is a Smsgt (E-8) in the Air Force.
What part of Japan???? I was in Misawa from 1990-1992 or thereabouts.
cynthia,
Oh cool!!!We were in Misawa from 1989-1993. We lived in tower 212 on the
5th floor. Across the street from the BX. I was in the quilting guild
while I was there.
Thanks for stopping by my Blog on my Maltepoo Coco tonight! 🙂
Do you have a dog ?
Stop by again! We post almost every day!
I have two dogs. a golden retriever and a border collie
I lived in the Navy barracks near the air field.. It could get really noisy sometimes. I also worked at the hill.. I think I knew someone who lived in one of the towers. I don’t remember which one. I was on a very weird schedule. 2-2-2 and 80. (8 hour shifts) So, I never had much time to do any of the clubs. 🙂
cynthia: I am so happy I met you. It is fun meeting people.
eeeeekk! gave me goosebumps!
I was worried about spiders forever after that day
I would rather see pictures of your other pets!hehe Great website! You are sooo talented—you really should stay so that you can teach us a few things! Don’t make me beg—-ok PLEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSEEEE.
Go ahead….beg…I don’t mind! : )
couldn’t you have simply put a glass over the spider, put some cardboard underneath, flip it over, bring it outside, walk about 100 feet, and release her? that would have been the nice thing to do. plus, since all those babies went running, now you have tons of spiders in your house, when you could have had zero.
i’m not a big fan of spiders, used to scare the hell outta me, but i still release bugs outside.
HOBBS: You have a good point. Initially we were going to just look at the spider which is why we grabbed the camera to begin with. She was a brave spider and didn’t appreciate being looked at. I don’t blame her. Iif 5 giants had surrounded me I would have been looking for the quickest way out too. She (The Spider) ran toward my youngest child. My sons immediate reaction was to swat the spider.
Oh my.
And I thought that moving to Georgia from Ohio was intense. The giant palmetto beatles, the lizards everywhere.. they are nothing compared to that beast.
RitaPita: Yep, she was an ugly one. I had nightmares for a week.
Hello Marsha! Great picture of the spider with all of the babies! Although I must admit, I’m glad it was in your house and not mine. Don’t worry that you smushed it, I heard somewhere that when you release house spiders outside they die very soon anyway, because they are HOUSE spiders, not outdoor spiders! I have no tolerance for creepy crawlies of any kind in my house – they give me the heebie jeebies! Cool picture, though. :o)
By the way, you left a comment on my blog about my kids. Thanks. They are a lot of work, but way worth it!
My dad was in the Air Force when I was growing up, and we lived in Okinawa, Japan for 2 1/2 years. It was a long time ago, but I do remember some things, and I still associate with friends that I made there. Your family picture in Kimonos was very cool. I also enjoyed your daughter’s artwork. My oldest is approaching her last year of middle school. She is my only girl, and I’m having a hard time with her growing up. Well, you do your best with them and then send them off into the big world to become what they will. With a lot of hard work and a little luck, they will be successful and happy.
Well, thanks again for your comment. It was fun visiting your blog. :o)
Sequimmomma: Thanks for leaving a comment and dropping by. I have four daughters and only one son. I find raising my boy a little harder than raising my girls. Being the only girl and being the oldest must be difficult for your daughter. She has a lot of responsibility. I’m sure your daughter will grow up to be a fine woman.
