My six year old, “the Morgan” would like to share with you her spongebob square pants art. Notice for safety, he is wearing a red helmet. Drawn with permanent markers and crayons.

Morgan’s Art
My Morgan hasn’t been feeling real well this week. I think she has a virus of some sort. We have been awake since five this morning. I had to get up and give her some Motrin and neither of us could fall back to sleep. Any way, Morgan has been drawing some of her favorite cartoon personalities. Let me know if you can guess who they are.

Morgan’s Birthday Story
Here is another story written, illustrated and podcast by my daughter Morgan. I will upload the pictures to the story tomorrow morning. It will probably be necessary to turn your speakers all the way up to here the story. The volume on the computer was turned down.
Click on the link below and hear Morgan tell her story.
***Morgan Story***
My birthday party

When it was my birthday party it was a sunny and bright day.
I wanted it to be this way.
Friends were over and were playing line-up tag scatch.
Itâs a game that when you turn into a line
You try to tag someone and then when you are tagged your supposed to scatch three times

I went inside to cool off
She said what would you like
I said âI will like a glass of water, please
âOK, it will be done right a secondâ
then I got my drink

I went in my room
I had make-up in my room
And I had a purple bed and a pink mattress
A yellow pillow
a purple roof
And a yellow floor
My room is on the top floor
Second on the right
My lipstick was red
And I had this kind of powder that you put on your cheeks

It was almost present time
Finally it was 9 oâclock
I got everything I wanted
I really wanted a guitar
And then I opened my presents
The square one was my new pillow

Time for cake
It had purple icing On top and the bottom
and had strawberry stuff inside
It was vanilla and had blue candles
It had three candles in it
Cake was delicious
So yummy
I got to blow out the candles And make a wish
My wish was
This was my best birthday party of my entire life
And I wish my other birthday party was just like this
and I wish I will get a new kitty cat
The End
A Morgan Podcast
Morgan wrote another story. For you listening enjoyment. Just click on the following *kitten story link* and listen to Morgan. I translated the story below each of the pictures. I’m pretty sure you can understand most of the words.
****A Kitten Story****

“The cat who finds an owner”
But he didnât have one
But he did have a name
His name was sniffles
Until he finds an owner
Heâll get a new name
He hopes it will be a bestest name ever
He found a pet zoo
He freed some pets
They tell him where to go

Itâs up at the mountain
They took the lead but
He searched high and low
Finally it was night
He found a soft kind of grass
It felt like a pillow
Around his heart

Finally it was morning
The day was searched
He left out of the city
While he went up and searched
He searched everywhere
Up in the mountains
Finally he was up on top
Where the snow was there
He found an owner

They took him to their home
They also had a great bed
They had video games
They had a cat bed
They had anything that he wanted to have
They had cat toys
They had some food
They had some clothes that you could wear
Even though heâs a kitten
Even though so many years had passed
Heâs grown up and he has kittens and puppies
For you and me

Podcast Marimony < ----Look it’s a mini podcast.
I often have serious conversations with my 6 year old Morgan. Yesterday was no exception. Morgan was playing with her favorite stuffed animal, Her white Unicorn. (See the below picture about 5 or 6 entries down).
Anyway, Morgan walks up to me and with a serious expression on her face says ” It’s time for my unicorn’s Marimony.”…I was watching TV and only half listening. “Your unicorn’s what?” Morgan repeated with a little sarcasm and rolled eyes “Marimony…it’s when unicorns marry someone.”
For some reason I feel as if I should have already known that.
Definition
Marimony– a ceremony where a white unicorn marries another loved stuff animal.
edit (If you hear this word spoken participation in the marimony festivities is mandatory. )

A song by Morgan

Morgan wanted to sing a song to her baby cousin that lives in “Tennessee”. I thought I would share the song with you. I edited it a little and took out the unintelligible parts. This is her entire song without the scratches and other noises that would have taken away from the performance. There are also pictures drawn by Morgan but my scanner isn’t hooked up. I will try and get the pictures scanned in by tomorrow.

Morgan wants a video camera

The creativity in my 6 year old keeps growing. I have got to find her a local outlet (children’s theater or something) somewhere around the Surprise (Phoenix) area. Last night Morgan asked me if I could buy her a video camera because she is writing a movie. Yes, a movie! Of course she also offered me a part. I get to play a flower. Specifically, a blue flower. I was given a demonstration on how I should stand and what dialog I would be saying. Apparently, my only words will be “Grow, Grow“…..ooops!!…apparently my words would be “bloom, bloom”. (there was a dialog change today 🙂 )
Morgan also gave me a little movie advice. She said that when the camera wasn’t on me I could relax but when the camera was on me I needed to be in character. It was really quite cute. I think my little writer is turning into a movie director. Who would have thought my genes would bring forth such greatness?

Morgan’s Pledge of Allegiance (Edited)
The United States is filled with people who speak more than one language. I have always found this to be a very cool thing. I tried to learn Japanese when we lived in Japan. I was never very good at it, although I could say a few phrases to get by. My older two daughters and my son, who were small children when we lived there spoke Japanese much better than their MOM.
Morgan learned a great deal in kindergarten. A couple of the things she learned thru out the year was sign language and spanish. Morgan absolutely loved these two classes. I have a great deal of respect for people who can speak more than one language.
I read in the news sometime ago about people wanting to say the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish. I personally believe it should be said in English but with that said I don’t believe there is anything wrong with knowing how to say it in Spanish. (To clarify my above statement. I think the Pledge should be said in English at major events such as, government meetings, and at the superbowl. Nothing wrong with saying the pledge in Spanish at events where a majority of the people are speaking Spanish.)
Morgan saying The Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish (By the way, there is no way for me to know if she is pronouncing all the words correctly. I pray there isn’t a dirty word in there. 🙂 )
The Butterfly so Beautiful in Life (Edited)
Here is another story illustrated and written by Morgan. Morgan drew the pictures and then sang the story to me as I attempted to write what she was saying singing 🙂 It was a challenge.

This little girl came in a cocoon. Then the cocoon was falling. There was no butterfly in it. It cracked open and there was no butterfly in it. Then the little girl went inside it.

When the little girl was in the cocoon her big sister came. She dyed her hair green. Then she found the cocoon and went inside it like her little sister.

Her little sister turned into a beautiful butterfly with hearts on her wings and then she flew over the city. She was so quiet she couldn’t talk anymore but she could talk but didn’t know it because butterflies are so quiet.

Then her big sister was a purple butterfly with hearts on her wings too like her little sister. Then she flew behind her little sister and said “Hello”. Then her little sister said “Hello” and turned around.

They were flying together. Then they started to hug and then they got warm and continued hugging. Then they got home.

When everyone saw them. Her mom and two sisters saw them so beautiful they could shout. Then they said how beautiful you are.

“Morgan, you can’t fly. You don’t have wings.”
…Later that evening
“Morgan, what are you doing?”
“I’m building a cocoon.”
“Why?”
“I want to grow wings.”
…no more explanation needed : )

My daughter wants to be a writer like her Mom
My Morgan is 6 years old. She is very creative and has recently decided she wants to be a writer like her Mom. So today I share Morgan’s first book. Morgan drew the pictures and I helped with the writing. Of course, this writing occured as I was trying to watch American Idol last night on TV. This story makes me giggle because Morgan doesn’t realize that ladybugs can’t have butterflies. : ) It’s her story and she has creative license to write the story any way she wants.

Once upon a time there was a lady bug named pokadot and there was a very nice spider.
Then the ladybug said “Hi” and the ladybug and the spider talked all night.

At night the ladybug laid eggs and then the ladybug said “goodnight” and the spider said “Goodnight”
The eggs laid there until morning until they hatched. Some of them were hatched and some of them were not.
Unitl the last one hatched we didn’t know if they were butterflies or ladybugs. We don’t know until tomorrow. We will see.

Some of the eggs hatched from dusk til dawn. Until there were 19 eggs left. Some of them hatched.

and then the last egg hatched and now we know all of the eggs were butterflies.
