I love TV, probably a little too much. I think I have become addicted to another television show. Life on Mars. It’s a television show on the BBC about a police detective named Sam Tyler. Sam is in a coma. He lives in 2006 but in his head it’s the early 1970’s.
I accidentally ran across Life on Mars as I was channel surfing when there was nothing else to do and nothing else on TV to watch. I watched the pilot episode and TIVO’d the next couple of weeks. The pilot episode was OK. I wasn’t overly impressed. The reason the pilot episode was only OK is because I had trouble understanding everything that was said because of the British Accents. (I think it’s British) After watching a couple of episodes this is no longer an issue. I think I just needed to acclimate my ears. I watched the second week and then the third week and now I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next. I do not need another addiction. 🙂 Seriously, this show is really good.

We watched this a few months back Marsha. I’ll just shut up now, shall I? 🙂
Hey Marsha,
I am a mom of 2 boys and live near Martinsburg, WV. (transplated from near Philadelphia, PA). I too, found “Life on Mars”-was hooked– and TiVOed the whole series. I laughed when I read about how you couldn’t understand the accents–as I couldn’t either. I actually put on the “closed captions”. I get a real kick out of some of the British slang. As the series just ended, I am feeling a bit sad—but I hear a second series is filming now and will be on next year sometime. Let me know what you thought of the last episode! Sharon
Hi Sharon, I’m sad the series ended too!! Poor Sam, I really wanted to see him get home. I wanted to reach thru the tv screen and give him a big hug.
