Today is Father’s Day.
I have been extremely luckily. There are two men in my life that are great fathers. My own father has always been wonderful. I think he has always loved being a father. I don’t remember my father never being there and supporting me in what ever it was that I was doing at the time. Happy Father’s Day Dad!
I know my husband loves being a father. My children should consider themselves lucky to have a Dad that is so loving. My husband loves his children deeply. My husband grew up without a father in his life. He only had uncles as role models. These uncles of course were great fathers too! I think my husband learned his fathering skills from his uncles but I also think he made a conscious effort to be a great Dad. My husband knew from the start what he didn’t want to be like. He didn’t want to be like his own father who was never there. Happy Father’s Day Ken. You are a wonderful Dad.
Happy Father’s Day to your hubby and dad! and to all those supporting Uncles…where in the world would we be without those that are not formally our “Dad’s” but stand in the gap anyhow!!

I’m glad it all worked out for your husband. Yes, having a father that’s not around gives you a crash course on what NOT to do in your life. And those lessons are valuable.
Boy does that sound familiar? With the husband not having a good role model with his own Dad. My hubby had two big brothers, the oldes was like his father. He learned a lot from them.
I’m glad you had such a great relationship growing up with your Dad, that’s great.
