I painted my kitchen. It took all weekend. Every muscle in my body hurts from bending and stretching. LOL!! The kitchen was formerly light blue. I hated the color. I decided to paint the kitchen orange and white. I think it’s pretty this way.

It’s so exciting. My blood donor card came in the mail today. I can’t wait to give again. Only a couple more weeks to wait.
I have always been a crier. I am not pretty when I cry. My eyes stay puffy and red all day long. I cry when I am happy, sad or mad. I cry when I hear songs on the radio. Happy thoughts about my children makes me cry.
I cry during movies or reading a book. I cried at a wedding and I didn’t even know the bride. It’s totally insane. I am 44 years old. I need to get this in check. I need help.
We had a wonderful visit with my mother-in -law. I wish she could have stayed longer than one day. The next time she comes to visit she promises to stay a couple of days.
Preparing to watch Arizona and Pittsburg in the super bowl. We are having hotwings, chips, dip….and beer. My brother in law should be here shortly.
I wish I had something creative to write about on this fine Saturday, but I don’t. The only thing on my “have to do list” is house cleaning and getting my hair trimmed. That reminds me I need to clean up the spare bedroom.
My mother-in-law is coming to spend the night. This is a good thing. I miss seeing her all the time. The kids all miss her tremendously. I still haven’t figured out what to cook for dinner tonight. I’m thinking country ribs, fried apples, green beans and cornbread.
My oldest daughter Heather is moving into her own apartment today. I know she excited. I’m excited for her.
It all happened this week. I swear. {{Big Sigh}} My lap top quit working, the headlights on the car quit working, my daughter breaks a tooth, my husband breaks a tooth and this morning my hair dryer dies a horrible death.
My children and husband always laugh at me because I have difficulties staying up late. I am usually in bed by ten. During the week I wake at 5:45am and get ready for work. Technically, that is almost 8 hours of sleep a night which is what adults should receive but I am always dead tired. I can’t remember the last time I actually slept all night long. It has probably been years and years. It takes the littlest thing to wake me up and once I am awake I can’t go back to sleep. My husband snores and the dogs pace all night long. I also have really strange and on occasion disturbing dreams that wake me. Most of my dreams don’t make a lot of sense but the content starts my brain in motion and I can’t shut it off once it starts.
I often tell myself that I am not getting out of bed before 7:30am on the weekends. Unfortunately, I am usually awake before then. Lying in bed seems like a waste of time if I can’t go back to sleep. I get out of bed and start my day as my family sleeps in until noon.
Grrrrrrr!!!! The headlights on my car are not working!!!! Now I have to wait for the sun to come up so that I can drive into work. This is very frustrating. It’s almost 7:30am and it’s still dark. Something electrical must be happening, ’cause surely both headlights wouldn’t burn out at the same time? the car turns on, the radio works, my high beams work, the left and right turn signals work and my break lights work. The headlights are not working!!!!!Why, Why, Why?
It’s been an enjoyable weekend. Everything has been laid back and relaxed. My children have had friends over pretty much around the clock since Friday. There has been no less than 2 additional teenagers in my house at anyone moment. For most of Saturday, there was 4. I like it immensely when my children have friends over. They stay in the big TV room downstairs mostly. They watch movies, play guitar here or an assortment of other video games. We have every gaming system known to man. They all call me Mom which is very sweet. I treat them all like my own. “Stir the casserole…take out the trash…take the dog out to the potty…empty the dishwasher” they all joyfully comply. At least when they are at my house, I know what they are up to, which gives me peace of mind because I know no one is getting into trouble.
I went to bed later than usual last night. I stayed up to watch Another Cinderella Story on channel 311 with Morgan. The movie didn’t go off until 10pm and then I needed to read Morgan the next Chapter in the book we are reading together. It was an incredible long chapter. I didn’t crawl into bed until about a quarter til 11pm. I couldn’t fall asleep. The thoughts of the day were roaming around in my head. After finally falling to sleep I had an incredibly disturbing dream. A bunch of animals were crossbreeding and pooping out staples. I don’t know why they were pooping out staples but the staples were getting everywhere. I spent the dream trying to catch rogue animals and clean up the mess. I woke at 4am and couldn’t go back to sleep. I have a feeling it might be a long day at work.
I was so excited, last night was the season premier of Battlestar Galactica. I love this show. Unfortunately, I am also deeply saddened. This is the final season. I have enjoyed watching this television show immensely. It will be greatly missed. Sometime in the near future I will need to go out and buy the DVDs so that on occasion I can sit in a quiet room, all alone and watch again one of my favorite shows. As I sit there, I will imagine myself taking part in the action that is on the screen. LOL!!! Sounds creepy doesn’t it.
I woke up at 3am, I traveled from Knoxville to the Atlanta Airport to put Heather on the plane and then drove back home again all before noon. I watched the Christmas special of Psych with Stephanie after we got back home and then took a nap. I’m still tired. ![]()
Thanksgiving is over. How sad. My husband did most of the cooking. I ate too much. Heather’s stay is almost over. I am very sad about her leaving. I have to drive her to Atlanta tomorrow morning to catch a plane. We will be waking up at 2am. It’s about a 3 1/2-hour drive. Flying her into and out of Atlanta was much much cheaper than flying her into and out of Knoxville plus it was a straight flight. No changing planes. I’m going to miss her when she leaves. I hate her living so far away.
On the news when they are describing the weather outside the weatherman or woman will say something like “It’s 34 degrees outside but with the windchill it feels more like 28 degrees. Where do they get that? Who did they poll? How do they know that if the wind is blowing the temperature feels colder than it is? If it’s 34 degrees outside, isn’t it 34 degrees regardless of weather or not the wind is blowing? I’m just wondering.
I had to wake up and takes the dogs outside. Once I’m awake I can never go back to sleep. Heather arrived home at 11pm last night. I stayed up until 12:30am. My bedtime is usually 10. I have no idea when everyone else went to bed. I’m not certain what are plans are for today. I think the kids want to go and see Twilight. I’ll probably dropped them off and then go and do some Christmas shopping. Updates later. BTW, Grandma feel free to come over any time. ![]()
At 2 o’clock my husband left to go and pick up Heather from the Atlanta airport. It was way way cheaper than flying her into Knoxville. They should be home around 10pm. It’s a 3 and half hour drive there and ditto for the return trip. I am so excited. I can’t wait to see her. I have the guest room all clean.
This morning as I drove into work I saw snow flurries. It was so exciting to see. I haven’t seen real snow in years. I know flurries are not real snow but they have potential to be real snow. I wanted to call home and wake up my husband. I thought about it for a few moments and decided that probably wasn’t a good idea. The man was up late and I doubt he would have as much enthusiasm about snow flurries as I do. I have decided to wait and give him the information at dinner tonight. There is a chance that he will see his own snow flurry sometime today. We can only hope.
My olest daughter Heather is flying in on the 21 Nov. from Phoenix Arizona for a week long visit. I am so excited. I can’t wait to see her. We have all missed her tremendously. I am going to book her plane tickets today.
