I have been websurfing this evening. It’s what i do to wind down from a long day at work. Any way, I was at “Come Share My life”
Prachi was sharing pictures of her office co-workers. They all came to work in their Sarees. Go take a look. All the ladies in the office are beautiful.
I have lived a lot of different places because my husband is in the military. I have always enjoyed seeing and watching people in native dress. The internet has made it possible to see people from around the world without having to travel to a foreign country.
My most favorite place I have lived is Misawa Japan. Japan is a beautiful place. When we lived in Japan we had a family portrait taken wearing kimonos, it was the coolest thing. My only regret is that my two youngest children were not born yet and are not in the photo. Today I thought I would share that photo with you. This photo was taken in 1993. I can’t believe it was that long ago. Enjoy.

yes, I really enjoyed Misawa too. Did you go to the Kappa festival?
And the picture is lovely. 🙂
We went to every local event we could. I don’t really remember names of the festivals. My husband was intervued on television once. We were watching a parade from the street and a local TV crew came up to us and asked if we were having a good time. Of course, the answer was yes. The TV reporter was an American but he spoke Japaneese perfectly. He translated everything my husband said into Japanese for the Japanese viewers. It was fun.
Kappa festival was about the green frogs.. of course it was a fertility festival. 😉
If that was the festival with the floats shaped like…well you know. I saw it.
yep.. and the kappa would grab young maidens and… LOL
wow! cool! kimonos for all, what do you call for guys costume?
I think they are called kimonos too!!
Hey, with a little photoshop perhaps your youngest 2 could be in this picture. I didn’t know you lived in Japan! My best bud and his wonderful girlfriend are now living in Japan for a few years teaching English.
If all goes well, Emily and I will be visiting them early next year. I can’t wait.
Joey: I hope you and Emily do get the chance to visit Japan. It is a wonderful and exciting place. There is lots to do and see there and the people are so incredibly nice.
